Can someone tell me if Naloxone/Pentazocine is even close to a percocet?
They don't seem to have the same affect that other pain killers have.

My roomate is taken Naloxone inplace of Saboxone. Is it safe?
She is also injecting it. I don't know much about this stuff. She says it is safe, but I am worried that she has me fooled. I did some research about it, but it says that it is used for people who Overdose, not for addicts. I don't know if she is using it as the right way, I don't know where she got it. She says her Dr. gave it to her. It isn't the Saboxone with the Naloxone in it. It is just plain Naloxone, I saw it, cause she wanted to give her an injection, but I wouldn't! Please someone let me know if it is something like Saboxone which I know helps curve the craving, or if she is taking something that is complete wrong!
Thank you!

Does anyone else out there have an allergy to Naloxone?
I was pregnant and on subutex due to the fact that it is safer and does not contain the component naloxone. Naloxone acts as an opioid inhibitor so one can not "use" while on suboxone. Naloxone is also unsafe during pregnancy. My doctor wants to switch me back to suboxone but when I was on it before I had awful problems with it. For starters It gave me severe skin infections on my face. I thought I had staph infection but it turned out if I layed off the suboxone my skin would clear. Subutex never did this to me. I have trouble keeping the suboxone under my tounge. The lemon lime flavor makes me nauseous if it doesn't make me vomit first. I have also had internal issues with this drug. It screws with my cycle and I can't go to the bathroom. I'm already on a slew of laxatives anyway, but they don't work at all if I take suboxone. I also feel like I am constantly in withdrawal, though it is mild, the sickness is still present.
I have explained all these things to my doctor and even gave suboxone a shot. (Not literally!) It was hell. I didn't break out but all the other symptoms came back. I was only on it for a week so it wasn't enough time to tell if I would get zombie skin. He switched me back temporarily until I see some internal medicine doctor who I know nothing about.
My tests in the past have all been clean and I've been a really good patient. I lived a very Rock n Roll life style before the birth of my son but he changed everything. I would not jeopardise his well being. It's so hard to get anyone to understand (especially doctors) that people change. When you are flagged as an addict you don't get treated like a human being anymore.
Honestly they got to know if it is bad for a baby It can't be great for an adult either. My doctor tells me he has never heard of such a thing as an allergic reaction to naloxone or even so much as an irritation. He thinks I'm making it up so I can shoot it or something (which frankly is something I've never done but you try telling them that). I wish he could make a decision for himself instead of sending me to the ends of the earth to see some other doctor. It's kind of weird to me.

Lots of people have a reaction to the Naloxone. It is very common, and your doctor is a quack if he's not familiar with the issue.

Naloxone blocks the body's placebo pain-lowering response. How is this helpful?
Naloxone is used to counter the effects of overdoses on morphine-like substances. It blocks the actions of pain-lowering endorphins and can also prevent the placebo pain-lowering response. How is this helpful? Why would you want to block pain-lowering endorphins?

I would say no, esp since it is used for Opiate Addiction Detoxing. When I searched for it, nothing came up and if there are online companies, they are almost always listed first.

"SUBOXONE is the first opioid medication approved under DATA 2000 for the treatment of opioid dependence in an office-based setting. SUBOXONE also can be dispensed for take-home use, just as any other medicine for other medical conditions."

What are the short and long term effects of acute morphine poisoning with administration of naloxone?
I have been to several sites with this question, trying to learn as much as I can and understand what is going on.

One day post-op for neck surgery on C3,4,7 & T1 with titanium cage enclosure plus removal of multiple bone spurs on spine (front and back incisions), my husband was rushed to SICU due to acute morphine poisoning because of PCA by Proxy (his mother).

His resuscitation required three different attempts with three different medications, the first one being Naloxone. My husband was in SICU for 5 days and endured horrible withdrawals.

Why did he have withdrawals? What are possible complications of acute morphine poisoning? He has been discharged from the hospital, his neurosurgeon is reluctant to prescribe anything to effectively manage his pain. He is also experiencing night terrors when he dozes, but has insomnia.

Any information about acute morphine poisoning, and the antidotes, and the after effects of both will be greatly appreciated.

WOW - PCA overdose by proxy. Never thought I'd hear of that! PCA stands for "Patient Controlled Analgesia", not "Patient's MOM".

The problem with any opiate overdose is that it suppresses the breathing drive in the brain control center. As long as his oxygen levels didn't go down AND STAY DOWN for a prolonged period, there really isn't any long term damage to morphine overdose.

Naloxone reverses the effects of morphine, so a side-effect of Naloxone is acute morphine withdrawl. You can't really adjust the Naloxone dose to just reverse a little of the morphine.

Probably now he's just having problems with pain control since the docs are worried about another overdose, this time with oral medications.

Click on Other Treatments
Click Weight Management
Select the dose you want and put in your cart
Fill out info for billing and shipping.
After you have paid, you will see a questionnaire pop up. Fill this out and make up a fake name to go into the Physicians info spot. After you finish filling it out (of course saying you are very healthy) Click Submit.
You will see at the very top it will say Your order has been successful. It will look like you need to do something else because the screen stays on the same page you filed out.
Just X out of the screen and your meds will get to you in 2 days.
I order from this place only....and you do not have to wait for your script to renew before you can order more.
Best of all it is an American pharmacy out of Jacksonville, FL.

what are lincomycin hydrochloride and lidocaine hydrochloride gel use for?
miao

Reply
Lincomycin hydrochloride is mainly used for fighting respiratory tract and soft tissue infections.

there's another type: It is indicated for the infections due to Staphylococcus,Streptococcus Pneumococcus and anaerobes. It may cause enteritis of pseudo-menbrane after prolonged administration. Patients with hepatic insufficiency should use prudently.

Lidocaine hydrochloride is used as a pain reliever. Lidocaine (lignocaine) belongs to a group of medicines known as local anaesthetics. Lidocaine acts to block temporarily the pathway of pain impulses along nerve fibres. This relieves or prevents pain in the area where it has been injected. This preparation is injected to provide local anaesthesia for minor procedures, such as dental surgery.

you can check out these websites. it's good. good luck!

  Nowhere.

Opiates in natural plants are their defense against being eaten -- they are toxic as hell. Plants have no reason to stock nontoxic antidotes, so they don't.

It is a common mistake to think the "beneficial" substances occur in nature for our benefit. They don't; the organism that has them usually has them for its own selfish reason, occassionally we luck into having them be helpful to us. Most of the time we have to synthesize stuff.

Betaine Hydrochloride (HCL) ok during pregnancy?
I am having problems digesting my food. I am 5 months pregnant. My Dr. told me to take Betaine hydrochloride and pepsin with my meals to help me digest (HCL). Is this safe during pregnancy? My Dr says it is, but I see conflicting reports on the web.

What you are seeing on the web is talking about exposure to vapors of hydrochloric acid, not about taking pills with a meal. Sort of like saying you can't drink from the municipal water supply because it is treated with chlorine when we know that chlorine gas is poison, especially to babies.

However, if you are still concerned, there are alternatives. You can take digestive bitters (Chamomile, Chickory, Gentian or a product called Swedish Bitters) at the start of a meal to increase your production of HCL. Also very helpful to sip vinegar water with meals. Mix 2-3 teaspoons apple cider vinegar and equal amount of honey in a little hot water. After it's dissolved, add cool water until it tastes pleasant.

Any difference between different types of diphenhydramine hydrochloride?
I go through quite a bit of benadryl to deal with allergies. Is there any reason why I shouldn't start buying the cheap, generic over-the-counter sleep aids containing the same dose (25mg) of diphenhydramine hydrochloride as benadryl?
Lynn

Reply
If you live in the United States then the FDA should ensure that any product advertised as containing 25mg dephenhydramine HCL will be the same as benadryl (the pink ones). If you take the green ones it'll have additional ingredients as well.

Is there a risk of addiction to the paracetamol tablet under the brand name UNIFLU?
Uniflu tabs contains among others (i) paracetamol 500mg, (ii) diphenhydramine hydrochloride 15mg, (iii) phenylephrine hydrochloride 10mg. It is indicated for symptomatic relief from influenza, colds, nasal & sinus congestions, coughing, fever, headaches, allergic conditions, hayfever, etc.

There is no physiological mechanism by which anyone can become addicted to paracetamol. There have been reports of addiction to combination products where paracetamol is combined with an opioid medicine, but this has nothing to do with the paracetamol component.
Phenylephrine hydrochloride has had cases of addiction however tolerance is more reported and is recognised in most countries as non addictive.
Im more concerned about diphenhydramine hydrochloride which continuous use of this medication can lead to dependency and addiction.

I suggest you seek medical help if you feel you are unable to stop taking this medication
