Doxylamine is an antihistamine like benadryl, it's the stuff in nyqiul or unisom. Yeah you'll be fine it doesn't have any reactions, just don't drink alcohol on it.

Is Doxylamine Succinate (25mg) safe?
Been taking Unisom tabs which contains doxylamine succinate 25mg? Love my sleep now but is it bad to take 1/2 a pill per every evening?

If half a pill works for you I would say thats good. Those pills never worked for me and my doctor ended up prescribing me ambien, which works amazing. I have to take ambien everyday and its a lot stronger than unisom so i don't see why it wouldn't be safe its a fairly low dose.

SLEEP HELP - can i buy DOXYLAMINE SUCCINATE [antihistimine]??????????????????
sometimes i take Vick's NYQUIL when im sick, and it has Doxylamine Succinate in it, which basically puts me out like a light the second i lay on my bed.
not even over-the-counter sleep aids or Ambien has the effects on me that this antihistimine does.

Are you taking the benadryl to help you sleep or to relieve your congestion? You really only need one or the other, not both. Just take the Nyquil, but be aware that it contains acetaminophen (tylenol), which can be VERY DANGEROUS if you overdose. Don't take anything else that has acetaminophen if you're taking Nyquil. It's also very important to stay hydrated when you're congested; it'll help things clear out faster.

I hope you feel better soon!

Is 75mg of doxylamine succinate safe?
This would be for a 185 pound male. The dosage would essentiaally just be three 25 mg pills.

Does anyone know the LD-50 of Doxylamine Succinate and also is it a good sleep aid?
I have extreme sleeping problems (yes, I have been to a doctor, I have no underlying illness, just very severe insomnia) and sometimes have to take higher doses of Tylenol PM to fall asleep when I need to. I hate the stuff, I don't like the feeling it gives me as I fall asleep.
Never heard of Seroquel. Is it OTC or by prescription?

I don't know the LD-50 is, but you should probably avoid extreme self-medication and go to a sleep specialist. For one, Tylenol is easy to overdose on--the margin between the therapeutic dose and the toxic dose is quite small. You should NEVER take more Tylenol than what is directed. You could suffer irreversible liver damage otherwise.

Have you tried Seroquel for sleeping? It's quite potent. It's used off-label in small doses for insomnia (it's approved in high doses to knock out even the most manic of psychiatric patients), and it's fairly tolerable in terms of side effects, at least in my experience.

Can I take Nyquil Cold and Flu at night and still take my Mucinex DM every 12 hours?
I ask because they both contain Dextromethorphan (15mg in Nyquil, 60 mg in Mucinex DM), and I don't know how much it too much. The other ingredients are not the same, so I should be ok... 1200mg guaifenesin (Mucinex DM) and 500 mg acetaminophen, 6.5 mg doxylamine succinate (Nyquil). Thanks!
Babykins Baby

The maximum amount of Dextromethorphan for adults is 1 gram (1000 mg) per dose and 4 grams (4000 mg) per day. Taking more Dextromethorphan could potentially damage your liver so yes, 75 MG of Dextromethorphan is safe to take within a 24 hour period. However, as per the 500 MG acetaminophen you should be careful as depending upon your metabolic tolerance and pharmacological predisposition it could cause a potential conflict(if taken excessively), but the 6.5 MG of doxylamine succinate should not comorbidly cause any other health problems. You should also be cognizant of the fact that these drugs taken over a period not constituting 2 weeks or more can cause/increase risk of health complications.

Does Coricidin Cough & Cold (Chlorpheniramine Maleate 4 mg, Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide 30 mg) make u drowsy?
Will Dextromethorphan HBr 15 mg & Doxylamine succinate 6.25 mg make you drowsy. The first one is Coricidin and the last one Nyquil, need something for a cold and to get some sleep.

It should, but I'd recommend generic Benadryl. Dextromethorphan isn't very effective at lower dosages and Benadryl is dirth cheap.

NyQuil or Theraflu for a cold?
I am about to go to bed and was thinking what should I take before I do so? I have body aches, feel clammy and have been tired all day. I also feel very horse I guess would be there term? I guess congested in my chest would better describe it. I want to wake up feeling better =) So Should I take Theraflu for FLU & Sore throat or Vicks NyQuil (nighttime) Multi-sympton Cold/Flue relief.

Theraflu contains Acetaminophen 650 mg Pheniramine maleate 20 mg and Phenylphrine hydrochlodride 10mg

NyQuil contains Acetaminophen 500 mg Dextromethorphan 15 mg and doxylamine succinate 6.25 mg

METOPROLOL ER SUCCINATE 100MG?
my mom is going from 50mg of Metoprolol Tartrate (1/2 tab bid) to 100mg Metoprolol ER Succinate; her lisinopril also increased from 5mg to 10mg qd; Going up that much on the Metoprolol scares me, can I cut the Metoprolol ER tabs in half since they are extended release?? Her regular doctor did not change her hypertension meds, her neurologist did because I told him her BP had been high and headaches were frequent. Cant get in with regular Dr until July. Thanks.
Her BP was 148/95, it wasnt bad the day she went in. When we had checked it at home a few times it was 2??/1??, when she was having head aches.

I'm not sure why you are second guessing the doctor, he/she did graduate medical school after all, right? I went from 20-40mg of lisinopril recently, and apart from feeling a bit tired for a few days, I came out all right. Don't break metoprolol XL in half--I take the 50mg tabs, and it has a sticker that says not to break in half. If you think the dosage increase is too drastic, discuss it with your doctor or pharmacist.

Will I be alright taking Metoprolol Succinate, Clonazepam, Zoloft, and Prilosec together?
I am currently taking 25mgs of Zoloft, 50mgs of Metoprolol Succinate, 20mgs of Prilosec, and 0.5mgs of Clonazepam daily. I was wondering if it is safe to be taking these medicines together, and would I have any long term effects from doing so? I am 38 year old male with chronic anxiety. I also have a rare genetic heart disorder called Brugada Syndrome. Although I have an Implanted ICD. It has never fired during the 6 years I've had it. I also have gerd, IBS, and Asthma.

My Dr. has recommended that I come off as many of my medications as possible?
He does not write them and he did not want to pull me off of them because he was not the prescribing doctor. I am on Clonazepam.5mg 1daily, Geodon 80 mg twice daily, Metoprolol Succinate Er 50 mg daily, Wellbutrin 300mg daily, Topomax 50 mg twice daily,Mirapex .25mg at night, Rozerem 8mg at 6pm, Ambien CR 12.5 mg at bedtime, Nuvigil 250 mg 1 upon wake up, Sumatriptan Succinate 100mg 1-2 as needed. The conditions that I have are nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, Severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder ,idiopathic narcolepsy , hypersomnia and sinus tachycardia. I get horrible almost debilitating pains in my legs and when I told my previous Dr. about it he said it was restless Leg syndrome , well I'm on the Mirapex and the pain just continues to get worse. Most of the time when I try to come off a medication the doctor's are unwilling to cooperate, any suggestions?

you may find it helpful to not switch doctors. i'm guessing that at minimum you have a psychiatrist for the PTSD, and depression, and parkinson's, a medical specialist for your narcolepsy and insomnia, an internist for your diabetes, a cardiologist for your heart problems, a neurologist for your migraines and epilepsy, i think i've got all of them.

you seem to have the misfortune of being diagnosed with problems that require specialists to treat. i'm having trouble figuring out your question - you say your doctor recommends that you come off as many of your medications as possible. that seems like a wise idea - eliminating the nuvigil, rozerem and ambien might just eliminate your narcolepsy and insomnia. it would make sense that the clonazepam could also be stopped as the amount you take is too small to have any therapuetic use. i can't discern if you take the mirapex for parkinsons or restless leg syndrome, or both. while i am not a doctor, it does make sense to eliminate the medications that aren't necessary.

so yes, one of your doctors was wise indeed to recommend eliminating some of your medication. but then at the end you say when you try to come off a medication the doctors are unwilling to cooperate. ....

it seems likely that when you stop taking the medications that are not health-sustaining, you will eliminate a lot of your problems, thus, eliminating the specialists, thus, eliminating the confusion surrounding your medication regime.

or maybe that's not it at all?

Yes, if both prescribed by the same physician. They don'y "interact" physically with each other, but they can cause a decrease in your blood pressure. So always make sure both are prescribed by the same person so he/she can continue to monitor.

  Open angle glaucoma:
It is important to understand that open angle glaucoma can be managed and vision will almost always be preserved, but the condition cannot be cured. Careful follow up with your doctor is important. With good care, most patients with open angle glaucoma will not lose vision.
Angle closure glaucoma:
Rapid diagnosis and treatment of an attack is the key element to preserving vision. Seek emergency care if you have the symptoms of angle closure attack.
Congenital glaucoma:
Early diagnosis and treatment is important. If surgery is done early enough, many patients will have no future problems.
Consult the doctor.

Metoprolol is a very safe and widely used drug known as a beta-blocker.
However, it is not a first line for hypertension, so I'm not sure why your doctor chose it for you. You might want to ask them instead of strangers on the internet with dubious knowledge.
